The Chandigarh administration has evidence to establish that the Sacred Heart School here singled out molestation victim Ruchika Girhotra when it removed her name from the rolls, said an official source on condition of anonymity.
The school is likely to receive an adverse report as the inquiry has found that the institute took no action against two other students for non-payment of fees during that period, the source said.
Haryana Home Secretary Ram Niwas, however, offered no comment, saying the findings of the inquiry would be made public in a couple of days.
Ruchika’s family has alleged she was expelled from school on “flimsy grounds” at the behest of S.P.S. Rathore, a senior police officer, who has been convicted for molesting her in 1990.
They have alleged that expulsion added to Ruchika’s trauma and was a factor that pushed her to suicide in 1993.
