Senior Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal termed the ongoing drug protests of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) a volley ball match during her visit to Ludhiana to attend a Lohri Mela on Sunday.

“It is a futile exercise. Why blame others if we being government of the state failed to address the drug issue, she questioned and suggested to take the protest in the capital where they should also present their report for not being able to control the drug menace in the state”, she said who further stressed that I feel rather than staging protests, one should try focusing on resolving the core reasons associated with inflow of drugs from the border.

Later on being asked to comment on the differences of Captain Amrinder Singh and Partap Singh Bajwa, the Congress leaders, she said that personal differences can pop up in any political party but what is not right is to expose every difference in the media. “It hurts me when I see such issues coming out in public. With passage of time, any differences can be easily resolved.”

While talking about her party she said, “Congress is a true democratic party although SAD leaders termed it that it is a ‘step mother’ kind of party. SAD has started talking about drugs issue now but congress has been making efforts to clear the drug issue since last many years.”
