Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) will 'protest' in the Lok Sabha on Monday against the formation of Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC).

SAD MP from Anandpur Sahib Prem Singh Chandumajra told HT on Sunday that the Sikhs would not allow the Congress to create division of their religious institutions.

Chandumajra, who is camping at the historic gurdwara Chhevin Patshahi at Kurukshetra for the last several days, said that it was ridiculous to object to the presence of devoted Sikhs at gurdwaras.

"Congress has disrespected Akal Takht, the highest temporal seat of Sikhism by forming a parallel religious body. The community is very agitated and we all are here voluntarily to protest against the divisive designs of the Haryana government," he said.

Chandumajra said that SAD would raise the issue in the Parliament on Monday as the Haryana government not only hurt the religious sentiments of Sikhs but showed disrespect to the union government by overruling a just point against HSGMC.

"We will also demand the immediate removal of Haryana governor Jagannath Pahadia for giving his assent to HSGMC which amounts to interference in the religious activities of the minority community," he said.
