Sarnas working against Sikhs at Cong behest: SAD

chandigarh Updated: Jan 24, 2013 00:18 IST

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Wednesday said the participation of Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh and union minister of state for external affairs Preneet Kaur in the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) elections had exposed the "unholy alliance" between the Congress and the Sarna brothers.

In a press statement, SAD spokesman Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said Amarinder had rushed to Delhi to save the "sinking ship of the Sarna brothers" in the DSGMC elections.

"But this decision of the Punjab Congress has proved that Paramjit Singh Sarna and Harvinder Singh Sarna are working against the Sikh community as per the directions and wishes of the Congress leaders," the SAD spokesperson said.

He added: "This participation (of Congress leaders) is also ample proof that the Sarna brothers are hand in glove with the same Congress which is directly responsible for the massacre of thousands of innocent Sikhs in 1984 in Delhi and other parts of the country."
