The SAS Nagar municipal corporation (MC) has suspended two of its superintendents for ‘indiscipline’.
The duo had been staging protest against MC’s order of not giving leave to any employee without prior permission.
The superintendents, Mandeep Singh and Jaswinder Singh, were suspended by MC commissioner Uma Shankar Gupta.
He maintained that both had shown indiscipline by not following the official orders that directed those proceeding on leave to seek prior sanction so that arrangements can be made for replacement.
“The order was issued so that public work does not suffer, and those visiting the office are not harassed in absence of the employee concerned. However, there was undue protest against the order, and it was learnt that other employees were being instigated by two superintendents, thus this action of suspension has been taken against them,” said Gupta.
