The district administration invited applications for scholarships under the Scholarship scheme (national fund and trust fund), on Friday. Handicapped students pursuing post graduation in professional and technical courses are eligible to apply for the same.
The spokesperson said under the scholarship scheme of trust fund, an amount of `2000 will be given to continue their studies from any recognised institute. However 30 percent of these scholarships have been reserved for girls in a course and if these remain vacant then they would be transferred to boys. Students pursuing professional courses will get Rs 2,500 for 10 months and Rs 3,000 for the post graduates. He added that Rs 6000 per year will be given to buy stationary products for undergraduate students, whereas for the postgraduate Rs 10000 has been approved.
