The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has steered Phases 5 and 6, which are a lot cleaner now than before, on to the right track.
However, there is a long way to go with garbage heaps still being a common sight. The parks and green patches bordering Phase 6 have been neglected; waste has been dumped near them. While the phase does have a few tidy pockets, many areas are filth-ridden with garbage piled up in corners.
The areas near the markets are especially dirty. Stray animals can also been roaming on the roads.
In comparison, Phase 5 is tidier. With cleaner parks and roads, the area wears a new look. But, this phase is not free from garbage piles either.
The area behind the Phase-5 market is littered, but the residential areas have been maintained well, although not particularly due to the Swachh Bharat campaign. These parts were cleaner earlier as well.
The Resident Welfare Association has maintained the parks well. Residents claim they always took care of the surroundings.
