A 35-year-old married wo man, a resident of Jagatpura Colony, has alleged that her husband threw acid on her face, damaging her right eye, on Sunday evening.
The victim, a domestic help, and resident of Uttar Pradesh, also thats he was routinely assaulted by her husband and on Sunday, in a fit of rage and in an inebriated condition, threw acid.
She added that here relatives and neighbours rushed her to the dispensary in the colony and was discharged after the requisite first-aid.
A relative of the victim said: “We heard screams of the victim and at first we thought this was nothing unusual, she was regularly assaulted by her husband.”
He added that when the screams persisted, they approached the victim’s house; she found a bottle of acid on the ground.
A doctor at the dispensary confir med that was an acid attack, but the victim got only first aid from the local dispensary and went back.
“She should have taken treatment from a hospital,” he claimed, adding the victim had initially told her that the victim did not at firt reveal to them that it was an acid attack by the husband.
Superintendent of Police Swarandeep Singh denied having any infor mation on t he incident and claimed that the police would look into the matter and that the guily would not be spared at any cost.
