Congress candidate for Hisar assembly seat Savitri Jindal filed her nomination papers on Thursday.
Before filing her nomination, she addressed a large gathering at the opening ceremony of her election office at Sushila Bhavan. She said Hisar was her home and its residents were her family. She credited all the development work she had done to the trust and confidence reposed in her by the people.
Her son Naveen Jindal, Congress campaign committee’s chairman and former MP from Kurukshetra, was with her when she filed her nomination.
“Jindal family is always committed to the development of Hisar. The objective of politics is not to make money, but to do public service,” he said.
Haryana’s ex-minister and Nalwa MLA Sampat Singh said after OP Jindal’s sudden demise in 2005, the responsibility of the whole Hisar family fell upon Savitri Jindal. “She personally was in great grief. But rose above her personal anguish and devoted herself to tending the grief and sorrow of the people of Hisar. She is now seen meeting people on the streets and in the colonies of the city. We are proud of this fact,” he said.
