The State Bank of India handed over four battery-operated cars and 1000 OPD chairs to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, on Wednesday.
According to the PGIMER officials, the battery-operated vehicles would help patients and attendants move on the PGI campus for tests and check-ups.
These vehicles will also ensure pollution-free environment at the institute. The chairs in the new OPD block will ensure that patients and attendants who have to wait for their turn do not sit on the floor.
Dr Yogesh Chawla, director of PGIMER, lauded the initiatives taken by SBI from time to time.
