Chandigarh territoral Congress Committee

Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee (CTCC) chief Pardeep Chhabra on Wednesday took up various issues of the Sector-17 shopkeepers before the municipal corporation (MC) officials.

The shopkeepers apprised Chhabra about their problems, including overcharging by the parking contractors, and seeking more money for monthly passes at the Sector-17 plaza.

"The parking contractors were not adhering to the terms and conditions,"they alleged.

Talking about the civic problems, the shopkeepers said garbage from the dustbins in the shopping plaza was not being picked up regularly.

They urged the MC to rent out around 40 shops being built under the newly constructed overbridge at the earliest.

Over 100 members of the Chandigarh taxi union led by union chief Ramesh Ahuja called upon Chhabra on Wednesday, and sought redressal of their problems. They sought exemption of 6% tax being imposed on them. City Congress chief was also apprised about other problems, including extension of taxi stands.
