The 38-year-old salesman, who was shot at by a robber at a jewellery shop in Sector 22 in broad daylight on Monday, was operated upon at the Fortis hospital where a bullet was removed from his brain.
Doctors said Paramjit Singh alias Sonu’s condition was stable.
“I am fine and will feel better after having a pain killer,” Sonu had said on Monday when he was rushed to Inscol hospital, Sector 34, by his relatives after he was attacked at Karan Jewellers.
“My father did not show any signs of fear when we took him to Inscol after the incident. When we told him that there was a bullet lodged in his brain, he exclaimed get it taken out,” said the victim’s daughter, Ravneet Kaur, at their Sector-23 house.
She added, “When the robber shot at my father, the helper, Swami Narain, raised an alarm, following which our relatives at a nearby jeweller shop rushed him to the hospital.”
The victim’s sister-in-law Jatinder Kaur, claimed, “The robber knew beforehand that Sonu was alone at the shop. The robber had been recceing the area to be sure before attacking.”
The victim’s children are studying in Classes 1 and 11.
