In yet another incident of looting in Panchkula, three youths snatched a scooter from a security guard after hitting him with a stick on Monday night.

According to the complaint, Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Mauli Jagran who works as a security guard at Red Bishop, Sector 1, was going to duty on Monday night on his scooter when the incident occurred.

He told the police that at around 10.40 pm when he reached near Topiary Park, three youths who were armed with sticks appeared from the dark and one of them hit him with a stick on his arm. Pradeep fell down and started running after abandoning his scooter. While one youth ran after him, the other two got hold of the scooter. Then one of them drove it towards Majri Chowk.

With the help of a passer-by Pradeep informed the police. Pradeep told the police that the scooter contained his purse, a driving licence and three ATM cards. The police have registered a case under Section 394 (for voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) of the IPC.
