A city resident claimed that his servant fled with Rs 2 lakh from his house in Sector 35 on Friday evening.

The police said Tarun Kalani, a businessman, is staying on rent at Sector 35. He told the police that he had employed Dashrath as a servant who was staying with him for one year. Tarun told the police that on Friday he went for his routine work.

Dashrath (25), hails from Bihar. He reportedly called Tarun in the afternoon to check if he was coming for lunch. Tarun told Dashrath that he was not coming home. At night, when Tarun reached home he found the door locked.

The door was opened with the help of a carpenter. The landlord staying on the ground floor told Tarun that his servant had left at 5.30 pm.

But the servant did not turn up. On searching the house, Tarun found Rs 2 lakh missing. On this, Tarun informed the police. A case of theft has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in this connection and efforts are on trace the accused.
