Sexual harassment committee constituted at Panjab University

Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, has reconstituted the Panjab University Committee Against Sexual Harassment (PUCASH). The committee has been constituted in compliance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013.

Professor Nishtha Jaswal of department of Laws would head the committee, which would have two-year tenure till July, 2017. Deputy director, Institute of Correctional Administration, Sector 26, Chandigarh, Upneet Lalli; NGO member, Amar Kulwant Singh; research scholar at department of women studies, Puneet Kaur; Warden, Girls' Hostel No. 8, Kanwalpreet Kaur; associate professor, UILS, Sabina Salim; assistant registrar (secrecy), Suraksha Sobti; PU dean students welfare, Prof Navdeep Goel and warden of Boys' Hostel no. 6, Vishal Sharma have been appointed as the members of PUCASH Committee. Assistant registrar, Department of Laws, Neelam Kumari would be convener of the committee.
