Sri Guru Gobind Singh Collegiate Public School (SGGSCPS), Sector 26, defeated Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 8, 13-2 in the under-19 boys’ section of the UT inter-school netball tournament that started at KB DAV School in Sector 7 on Monday.
In the other matches of the event, GMSSS-20 got the better of DAV Model School, Sector 15, 9-2, while St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, brought down GMSSS-19 7-2.
In the boys’ under-17 category, GMSSS-20 thrashed Chandigarh Baptist School, Sector 45, 12-0, while Moti Ram Arya School, Sector 27, downed DAV-15 14-1. In another match of the section, DAV Public School, Sector 8, lost to Mount Carmel School, Sector 47, 1-8.
Government Girls Model Senior Secondary School (GGMSSS), Sector 20, defeated St Soldier School, Sector 28, 1-0 in the under-19 girls’ section of the UT inter-school football tournament, being organised in GMSSS-37, on Monday.
For GGMSSS-20, Stanzin scored the winning goal in the 10th minute of the play.
In another exciting encounter of the same section, GMSSS-22 got the better of Mt Carmel School, Sector 47, 2-1 on penalties. In the corresponding boys’ event, St Anne’s School, Sector 32, beat Delhi Public School, Sector 40, 1-0. For the winners, Sahil scored the winner in the 30th minute of the match.
Ryan International School, Sector 49, drubbed Government High School (GHS), Sector 30, 3-0 in the girls’ under-14 match of the UT inter-school hockey tournament, being played at the Sector-18 hockey stadium, on Monday. For the winners, Upneet scored the hat-trick, netting goals in the third, 15th and 40th minute of the match.
In the under-17 section, Harsimran Kaur scored twice to help GMSSS-32 beat GMHS-37 2-0. Harsimran scored in the seventh and 22nd minutes of the match.
In the second match of the section, GMHS-42 thrashed GMSSS-15 4-0. While Ritu starred for the winners by scoring two goals in the 21st and 53rd minutes, they were also assisted by Ranjana and Rajni, who scored one goal each in the seventh and 40th minute, respectively.
In the last match, GMSSS-37 got the better of GHS-25 3-0. While Saba Khan scored a brace for the winners in the 14th and 22nd minute of the match, Amanjot Kaur chipped in for the side with one goal in the 44th minute.
Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, defeated GMSSS-33 2-0 in the under-14 boys’ section of the UT inter-school tennis meet here on Monday.
In the other matches of the same section, Gurukul Global School, Manimajra, defeated Kundan International School, Sector 46, 2-0, while Ankur Public School, Sector 14, got the better of Mount Carmel, Sector 47, 2-0. In the last match of the section, St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, beat KB DAV-7 2-1.
In the corresponding under-17 event, St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, got the better of Ankur
Public School-14 2-1, while Saupin’s School-32 brought down Gurukul Global School 2-1. In other encounters, St Anne’s School-32 pipped Ajit Karam Singh International Public School, Sector 41, 2-1, while Vivek High School-38 defeated SGGSCPS-26 2-1. In the last match, St Joseph’s School-44 were given a walkover by Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36.
GHS-47 defeated AKSIPS-41 with the set score of 2-0 (25-19, 25-19) in the under-17 boys’ section of the inter-school volleyball tournament, being organised at GMSSS-26 (Timber Market), on Monday.
In other matches of the day, GHS, Colony no 4, defeated GMHS-41 2-0 (25-12, 25-21), while Saupin’s School-32 also brought down GHS-Sarangpur 2-0 (25-10, 25-11). Meanwhile GMSSS-47 defeated GSSS-Manimajra Town 2-0 (25-6, 25-10), GMHS-Manimajra brought down AKSIPS-45 2-0 (25-9, 25-5), Tender Heart School-33 defeated GMHS-39 2-0 (25-10, 25-11), and GMHS-Vikas Nagar drubbed GMSSS-28 2-0 (25-23, 25-20).
In the last match of the day, Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Sector 40, beat Sri Aurobindo School, Sector 27, 2-1 (24-26, 25-21, 25-11).
GMHS-39 defeated St Anne’s School-32 4-1 in the under-14 boys’ section of the inter-school softball tournament, being organised at GMSSS-35, on Monday.
In other matches of the day, DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, defeated GMHS-39 8-7 in a close contest, while GMSSS-37 defeated GMSSS-8 23-15.
Meanwhile, GHS-11 beat GMSSS-40 6-4, and GMSSS-15 got the better of GMSSS-37 with a 12-0 scoreline.
