Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) member Paramjit Singh Lakhewal justified the action of SGPC in taking possession of the property situated near Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib at Anandpur Sahib here on Sunday.

Talking to mediapersons, he said the concerned eight-kanal land belonged to Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib and no one had any right over it, adding that the SGPC took the possession of the property on the basis of their revenue record.

"A thorough probe should be conducted into the matter and revenue record pertaining to property should be looked in to," said Lakhewal , adding that this would reveal the property belonged to SGPC and it would also be clear whether any revenue record was forged to grab the land or not.

Lakhewal refuted the allegations leveled by the Shiromani Akali Dal general council member, Jagtar Singh Bhaini, that the concerned property belonged to him.
