Shanta urges Centre to ensure safe release of Kangra youths abducted in Iraq

Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Lok Sabha MP Shanta Kumar on Tuesday urged Centre to make concerted efforts to ensure safe release of Kangra youth abducted in Iraq.

Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Lok Sabha MP Shanta Kumar on Tuesday urged Centre to make concerted efforts to ensure safe release of Kangra youth abducted in Iraq.

In a press release issued here, he said the family members of the abducted youth were worried about their fate and government should come forward to end the crisis.

He said three youths from Kangra -- Aman Kumar, Inderjeet and Sandeep Kumar have been abducted by insurgents in strife-torn Iraq.

Shanta said it was responsibility of the Indian government to ensure safety of Indians working in Iraq.
He said youths going abroad in search of employment are often cheated by the travel agents resulting into the people landing into problems in foreign countries. The MP urged minister of external affairs Sushma Swaraj to ensure safe release of the abducted youths.
