Actor Sharmila Tagore on Monday replied to notices that were issued to her and her son Saif Ali Khan on Saturday for violating the model code of conduct during the Haryana assembly elections.
The returning officer and subdivisional magistrate (SDM) of Pataudi had issued two notices to Tagore and Khan on Saturday for hosting a party in their family palace. Sharmila replied to the notices on behalf of Saif and herself.
According to the letter, accessed by HT, Sharmila called all allegations ‘false and without any factual foundation’. She claims that on October 16, which was Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s wedding anniversary, a quiet dinner was organised in the presence of a few friends.
The reply reads, “There were just eight of us for dinner. We were sitting far away from the boundary wall and the only music we had on was from a personal iPod which was not connected to any loudspeakers. There were no fireworks or DJ and no cocktail party was organised on this day either.” It further states that everyone returned back to Delhi and Mumbai on the morning of October 17.
