Shiney rejected Barfi!, eyes a bigger comeback

Shiney Ahuja wants to resurrect his Bollywood career. That too, in a big way. So, when the actor was offered a small role in Ranbir Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra starrer Barfi!, he turned it down.

“Shiney was offered a small role in the film, but he wanted a bigger comeback. Anurag Basu (the director) and Shiney are good friends. Having worked with him before, Basu offered him the part,” says a source from the film’s unit.

Shiney, who is currently out on bail in a 2009 rape case he was convicted in, says he is looking for a good comeback, after the debacle of his last film, Ghost. “Anurag is like my brother. We had discussed the film, but it was just a casual conversation. He had told me about the part but we never discussed it again,” says the actor, who is in the Capital these days. “I have got offers but nothing has been good enough. I am looking for a good offer and I am in talks with a couple of directors,” he adds.
