A skeleton, hanging from a tree in the forest area of Jatt Wala village in Pinjore, was recovered on Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Ravinder Kumar, a truck driver, from the clothes and shoes; though Kumar’s bones were falling apart.

The post-mortem was conducted on Wednesday which revealed that the body was three-months-old.

According to Dr Sunil Gambhir, head of post mortem department, General Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula, there were no major injury marks on the skull or other bones and it was difficult to ascertain whether the man was hanged or he committed suicide.

Shiv Kumar, father of the victim, said that as a truck driver Ravinder Kumar used to stay away from his house for two-three months. “We thought Ravinder would come back as he had gone to South India.

On Tuesday, the sarpanch of the village came and told that they had found a skeleton and from the clothes it seemed to be Ravinder’s body. When we reached the spot, we identified the skeleton as that of my son Ravinder,” he said.

Ravinder was the only son of Shiv Kumar as his other son, who was mentally sick, died a few years ago.

Sub inspector Seva Singh said, “We have not registered any case so far. We are investigating the matter.”
