Android-based 'Smart Chandigarh' mobile application, launched on the eve of Republic Day by UT administration, has added three new citizen centric features: RLA details, first aid and administration directory with a search option.
The department has received great response on this app within just 18 days after its launch. More than 4000 downloads have already been made and more than 175 reviews with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 is given as on February 12.
Complete information related to registering and licensing authority, transport department, has also been added for the convenience of general public. The procedures to make all kinds of driving licenses (learner's license, renewal, duplication, alteration or change of address); the procedures to register vehicles (new registration, transfer, duplicate or alteration) have been made available.
All forms related to driving license and vehicle registration can be downloaded directly from this mobile app. Information on the traffic signs, learner's license test result, available vehicle number, high security registration plate (HSRP), mock tests is also available. The department of food and supplies and consumer affairs, UT has been added along with first aid guidance in 'Citizens Corner'.
The idea behind putting a first aid manual in this app is to make people aware of medical emergencies and the precautions to be taken thereof. The details were prepared after referring several reliable websites.
