Amninder Mann, the leader of Student Organisation of Panjab University (Amninder Mann group), on Sunday alleged that leaders of Student Organisation of India (SOI) were threatening him.
He also claimed that Prabhjit Karamuwalia group of SOPU was being run at the behest of SOI leaders.
Mann said his group had not forged any alliance with any student outfit and would fight the election on their own.
“A number of senior leaders have left the party earlier this year. We are struggling with organisational problems. So, for this year, we will fight for only one post,” he said.
He claimed Karamuwalia and another leader of the second faction of SOPU were SOI workers and they formed the group at the behest of SOI leaders.
Mann was announced as party president earlier this year after senior leaders on the campus had left the party to join SOI. In August, a group headed by Karamuwalia announced that Mann had been removed from his post and was no longer the president of SOPU.
