UT administrator and governor of Punjab Kaptan Singh Solanki lauded UT administration and the Punjab government to successfully launch Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan - the dream project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In his Republic Day speech, Solanki said he was confident that the people of Punjab and Chandigarh, who have always been torch bearers in every movement for change and betterment, will emerge as role models for the rest of the country.
Lauding the initiatives of these governments for focusing on setting up solar energy effectively, Solanki also called for need to pay attention to check the menace of drug addiction.
“This can only be tackled through joint efforts of government, society and parents. The people of Punjab need to extend full cooperation to the state government to fight against drugs to save the youth,”said Solanki.
Maintaining that unethical practice of female foeticide was posing a serious threat to the social fabric of society, Solanki congratulated the Punjab government for successfully launching ‘Nani Chaan’ campaign in the state aimed to save the girl child and promoting environmental protection by planting a sapling to celebrate the birth of girl child.
