The security at DAV College, Sector 10, is once again under scanner as outsiders attacked student leader Meet Jatana, who visited the college for some personal work, on Thursday.

High drama prevailed as the youths collided with kirpan and sticks. The fight took place outside the college premises, but the youths entered the college by pushing each other. The fight that started over an old enmity on Wednesday night, ended on Thursday with Jatana being seriously injured.

An eyewitness claimed that there were around 8-10 boys, all armed with sticks and kirpans. He further claimed that the attackers were Hindustan Students Association supporters, who started fighting outside the gate and while trying to escape from their clutches, Jatana ran inside the college and the others followed.

Talking to HT, SHO of Sector 3 police station Harjit Kaur said, "The victim was in the college for some work of his cousin brother who studies in the college. There were allegedly 8-10 boys with weapons and a case of attempt to murder have been registered against all of them. We are trying to find the accused and solve the case."

College principal BC Josan said, "No college student was involved in the fight, all youths were outsiders. We have camera installed and we will check the footage. The case has been registered and the police are carrying on investigation."
