Suicides over stalking: Three more arrested

Taking the investigation to another level, the Rohtak police on Thursday arrested three more persons, including coaching centre owner, in connection with the suicides by two girls recently.

The accused were identified as Chand Singh, centre owner of Vidya Coaching Centre; Robin, a resident of Ghirawad, a student of academy who persistently stalked one of the victim and also wrote a love letter and Sunil Sharma, who was riding pillion with the main accused the day girls ended their lives.

Notably, police had arrested Lokesh Dalal on Tuesday.

DSP Karan Goel said that the centre owner Chand Singh was arrested as he failed to inform the police despite knowing that the girls were being stalked, which is an offence according to POCSO Act.

While Robin was the classmate of the victims and was pressuring one of them to hook up in a relationship. Sunil Sharma, a resident of Farmana village, used to accompany Lokesh Dalal.

Notably, on Wednesday, girls’ family members had demanded a CBI probe into the case.

Suman Dahiya visits bereaved families

State Women’s Commission vice-chairperson Suman Dahiya visited the residence of both teenagers in Rohtak to console the family members.

Talking to mediapersons, she said that girls should stand up in difficult situations it. She urged the police and society to co-operate as much as possible and remain sensitive to such incidents and lend support to women in distress.
