Sukhbir condoles hockey coach's death

Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, who also holds the charge of sports minister and president of Hockey Punjab, has expressed grief over the untimely demise of women's hockey coach Inderjit Singh Gill, who died in a road accident near Sangrur on Wednesday.

Sukhbir said, "He (Gill) was the main pillar behind the success of Indian hockey at the international level as he trained world-class players such as Deepak Thakur, Prabhjot Singh, Sandeep Singh and goalkeeper Kamaljeet Singh."

Public relations minister Bikram Singh Majithia, finance minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa and Rajya Sabha MP and Punjab Olympic Association president Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa have also expressed grief over Gill's death.
