Sukhbir should tender apology to the family of Yannick

The People's Party of Punjab (PPP) today asked deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is also holding the charge of Home Affairs, to tender a written apology to the family of Yannick, who is in coma following students assault.


The state must bear all expenses to the family of Yannick who has been burdened to borne so far.

In a release on Sunday PPP chief spokesman Bir Devinder Singh also urged the management of the Lovely Professional University to do something substantial as part of their social commitment for their student Yannick.

He also suggested the management of Columbia Asia Hospital to scale down the hefty bill to provide some relief to the victim's family.

'It's terrible that Romi Uppal son of superintendent of police (SP) Dharam Singh Uppal who is currently posted as SP in Nawanshahr, was involved in the heinous assault committed against a foreign student Yannick Nihangaza, he said.

He added that it was all the more intriguing that while the assault was committed on April 21 and the perpetrator of the crime surrendered after the gap of almost two-and-half months.

Nestor Ntibateganya, Yannick's father had alleged the involvement of the wards of influentiation people.
