Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday criticised the Himachal Pradesh government for scrapping the Anandpur Sahib-Naina Devi ropeway project.
Talking to mediapersons here, Sukhbir said it was extremely unfortunate that the Congress government in the hill state had scrapped the project, which was conceived to connect two religious places of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
He said the project would have proved extremely beneficial for residents of
Anandpur Sahib and Naina Devi areas and would have resulted in employment generation and bringing both towns on the world map.
He said the Punjab government would take steps for the revival of the project. Sukhbir was here for the installation ceremony of the new jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Giani Mal Singh.
