Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday unveiled the tourism project before tourism and hotel tycoons.
Sukhbir took the investors, that included presidents and marketing heads of five-star hotels, to the three islands in the lake of Ranjit Sagar Dam, near here, to explore the possibilities of tourism and water sports.
After inaugurating a sports stadium and a government college here, Sukhbir flew with these delegates in two helicopters to the islands of Kulara, Musharba and Athrwan, where a battery of officials led by chief secretary Sarvesh Kaushal and Gurdaspur MP Vinod Khanna were present.
While assuring the investors about the features of the property in the lake, Sukhbir claimed that his plan was to complete the project by next year for which a hassle-free atmosphere would be provided to investors.
Replying to the queries on the approach road to these destinations, Sukhbir claimed that a six-lane road would connect the place with the Pathankot airport while a 24x7 power supply would be ensured to the place.
He said a world-class architectural design would be ready by January next year in which a golf course, resorts and water sports would be provided at these islands.
