Party’s padyatra, which has been going on for the past 12 days, was held in Dadumajra here on Friday, with Congress leaders and supporters in a jubilant mood celebrating Bansal’s candidature.
The padyatra was led by Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee (CTCC) president BB Bahl.
Colony residents welcomed the yatra by shouting slogans in favour of Bansal, and assured that they would vote for him as he had taken up several initiatives for their betterment.
Colony leaders added that they would work towards spreading awareness about his contribution to encourage people to vote for Congress in the Lok Sabha polls next month.
“We are sure about Bansal getting the ticket again. After having represented Lok Sabha for four terms since 1991, and for 15 years continuously since 1999, we are sure he will be chosen this time as well,” the residents added.
