On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, Swachhta Sapath, under the Swachh Bharat Mission, was administered in all UT administration offices on Thursday.
Adviser to the administrator, KK Sharma, administered the Swachhta Pledge to all UT employees in the secretariat compound, Sector 9, Chandigarh.
Prior to that, home secretary, UT, Chandigarh, Anil Kumar, spoke on Mahatma Gandhi's dream of a clean India.
He said it was the duty of the citizens to keep the country neat and clean.
KK Sharma, in his address, appreciated the involvement of the employees and the general public in this mission.
He also released a poster published by the director of public relations, UT Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Hotel and Restaurant Association, Chandigarh.
Those present include home secretary Anil Kumar, finance secretary Sarvajit Singh, legal remembrance Gulab Singh, additional secretary (home) SB Deepak Kumar, joint secretary (home) and director of public relations MM Sabharwal, chief architect Sumit Kaur, chief engineer SK Chadha and senior office bearers of Hotel and Restaurant Association of Chandigarh Arvinder Pal Singh, Manmohan Singh and Gurvinder Juneja.
