Team Anna today termed "very weak" the draft of Lokayukta Bill prepared by the BJP government in Himachal Pradesh and said the saffron party is on the same page with the Congress on the Lokpal Bill at the centre.
"HP government has drafted a Lokayukta Bill. A copy of the same was sent to us for our comments. The Bill is very weak ineffective and seeks to provide illegitimate protection to corrupt people rather than punish them," Kejriwal said.
He said rather than adopting the strong model of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh government has adopted many of the controversial provisions of the central government.
The RTI activist termed this as unfortunate. "Does it mean that BJP disowns Uttarakhand Bill? Does it also mean BJP and Congress are on the same page on some of the controversial provisions of the central Bill?" he added.
Meanwhile the Himachal government has cancelled a meeting with Kejriwal. PC Dhiman, principal secretary (Home) was to present a copy of the Lokayukta Bill to Kejriwal at Himachal Bhavan here this morning but the meeting was cancelled.
The Team Anna said the state government did not give any reason for cancellation of the meeting.
