A technical snag in the power line from Nalagarh led to power outage in several sectors of the city on Monday.
Power supply to parts of Sectors 20, 21, 22, 23, 30, 34, 35, Manimajra and Industrial Area, among others, remained disrupted for nearly five hours.
UT superintending engineer MP Singh said a majority of sectors in the centre of the city remained without electricity due to the problem.
“We pressed all our resources into service, but it took us over some time to restore the power supply,” he said.
Currently, the city receives 67% of its power supply from SAS Nagar (PSEB), nearly 10% from Dhulkote (BBMB) and the rest through Nalagarh.
The electricity department received over 100 complaints on Monday.
