The wife of conman Devinder Gill, who is facing charges in several cases of fraud, on Monday tried to commit suicide at her house in Sector 70 of SAS Nagar.

She is undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city.

Gill’s wife Kricpy Khera also left a suicide note addressed to her mother in which she has accused two IPS officers — Gautam Cheema, IG, IT & Technology, and Ajay Chaudhary, a suspended officer of defence accounts services — for harassing her.

The suicide note was handed over to the media, but has not been given to the police.

Police officials said it was not confirmed yet whether it was an actual suicide attempt and
further investigation is on in this regard.

Surender Kaur, the victim’s mother, visited the office of senior superintendent of police (SSP) informing him that her daughter was being harassed by the said officials against whom she has filed a molestation complaint. Talking to mediapersons, Kaur said on Friday Kricpy visited the Chandigarh police station where her husband is in custody and saw Ajay Chaudhary harassing Devinder.

She said the SSP ensured them that an FIR will be registered against the accused within four days.

Sources said that the statement of the complainant and other witnesses had been recorded by the police in the case.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Inder Mohan Singh said that the investigation was about to complete on the complaint of molestation and the case would be lodged soon.
