Hollywood-Mumbai rock‘n’roll band The Disparrows, which performed at the Kasauli Rhythm and Blues Music Festival, has a very famous Indian connection—Sunny Leone.

The band’s lead singer, Daniel Weber, is married to the film actress since 2011. Now based in Mumbai, Weber has also broken into Bollywood with the song “Ye Ishq”, from Leone’s upcoming movie, “Kuch Kuch Locha Hai”. He will also make his acting debut in “Dangerous Husn”, paired opposite Indipop singer Saru Mahini.

This desi connection is something the other members of the band look at as an asset. “Weber is based out of India and was the reason why we are here. It helps us take our music far and wide and not restrict it to the West,” said Grant Loosvelt, keyboard player of the band that is on its first Asian visit.

The band has found the entire Indian experience enriching. “Seeing new cultures and people broaden your horizons,” said bass player Stephen Tecci, adding: “Performing in the foothills of the Himalayas is a unique experience.”
