Indya Records on Thursday announced the release of their latest music album, Alaap -The Legend Lives On, in association with Sargam Productions (UK). The project recreates some of Channi Singh's greatest hits, such as Bhabhiye Ni Bhabhiye, Teri Chunni De Sitare, Ve Vanjareya, Kade Na Billo, Jind Mahi and Ik Kuri Gulab De Phul Wargi. The highlight of the album, however, is the duet, Main Chham Chham Nachdi Firan, with Asha Bhosle.

The album encapsulates the journey of the Alaap Band, which was formed in 1977 by Channi Singh, and has been prominent on the bhangra scene for over 35 years. Alaap - The Legend Lives On is being released in India by Indya Records and the CDs are being distributed by MoserBaer.

Addressing a press conference at Chandigarh Press Club, Sector 27, singer Channi Singh said, "The bonus track on the album is a brand new song - Saadi Marzi - by Mona Singh [Channi's daughter] and Labh Janjua. The album also features its remix version with UK-based group, Tigerstyle. One of the videos, of the song, Ve Vanjareya, is being shot in Punjab."
