Thieves target 3 flats in Army flats society, nothing stolen

Three houses were targeted in Army flats society in Sector 4, Mansa Devi Complex (MDC), on Thursday.


However, nothing was stolen from the flats but locks were found broken and cupboards were found ransacked.

The houses which were targeted were-house number 265 of Colonel KK Singh (retd), house number 264 of Colonel Devender Dyal and house number 266 of Ripu Diwan. All the house owners live at far off places from their flats at MDC.

There are close to 345 houses in the society and CCTV cameras have also been installed in the complex.

On a neighbour’s complaint, the police reached the complex in the afternoon. On talking to owners, it came out that the houses did not have any cash or jewellery, though certain electronic items kept at the flats, were not stolen.

At the entrance of the housing, a security guard keeps a register of people visiting the society.

“We have not registered the FIR as there is no complaint,” said assistant sub-inspector Bhupinder Singh.

RECENT EVENTS

May 8: Thieves had targeted four houses in Rail Vihar located just close to Army flats society. The thieves took away a cash and valuables.

May 4: Thieves struck at five houses in Sector 2, Panchkula, and at two places they got successful. Councillor from ward number 16, Mamta Mittal is also one of the victims.

May 1: Thefts took place at two houses inside Chandimandir Cantonment.

April 22: Four houses in Sector 6 were targeted where also LCD and other valuables were lifted. One of the houses was of retired justice of Punjab and Haryana high court, Amarjeet Chaudhary.
