Three killed in road mishaps

A man lost his life in Chandigarh, while two persons died and three others were injured in three road mishaps in Kharar.

A 30-year-old man lost his life after his motorcycle rammed into an electricity pole on the dividing road of Sectors 22 and 23, Chandigarh, on Thursday night.

Police said victim Rakesh Kumar was going back home from the jewellery showroom in Sector 19 where he worked as a salesman.The police said he was on speed and suddenly lost balance and rammed the motorcycle into the electricity pole.

The police was informed and the victim was rushed to Government Multi-Speciality Hospital, Sector 16, where duty doctors declared him brought dead.

Rakesh was a native of Kolkata and was living in a rented accommodation in Sector 42.

The helmet of the victim was lying on the road and the police are trying to ascertain if he was wearing it or just carrying it. The police have registered a case and have informed his family in Kolkata.
