Three students held guilty of 2011 murder outside Sec-19 school

One of those convicted , Hanish Chauhan, is a resident of Sector-26 and the son of a woman police constable. The other two, Ashwani alias Ashu and Harish are residents of Sector 30. The sentence would be pronounced on April 23. Hanish’s mother broke down in the court room after her son was held guilty.
THE CASE
On September 26, 2011, Pushkar Singh who was employed in a hardware company in Sector 41, was stabbed to death outside Gover nment Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 19, by the students of the school after he had intervened to stop a scuffle between two groups of school students.
Pushkar was stabbed several times in the chest by the suspects and had succumbed to his injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, where he succumbed to his injuries in the evening.
As per the prosecution on September 26, 2011, Shalinder, the eyewitness and complainant in the case, who was studying in Class 10 of the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 19, was attacked by the three accused Ashwani alias Ashu, Harish and Hanish Chauhan, who came on a motorcycle as Shalinder was walking out of the school premises after the exam. The accused had assaulted Shalinder to avenge an old issue.
