The Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president, Phool Chand Mullana on Monday strongly reacted to the remarks of BJP leader Narendra Modi in which the latter had compared the Congress to diabetes and said it was totally unjustified and misplaced to call it an ailment.

Mullana held that the Congress had been returned to power by people time and again by showing faith in its policies. "On the other hand, the BJP is a cancer, which is eating away the vitals of the country by its misdeeds," he said in a release.

The Congress believed in secularism and equal treatment to all sections of society, whereas the BJP had sectarian ideology, Mullana said, adding that diabetes was such an ailment which could be treated and the patient could survive for a long period with the treatment, but the BJP was a cancer, which had no treatment.

Mullana said whenever the BJP was returned to power by the people they realised their mistake and in the next term the BJP-led governments were removed from power because the people got fed up with its policies and programmes in the shortest possible period.
