The UT state transport authority (STA) has decided to prepare a list of defaulters who have not applied for renewal of documents such as permit, insurance and pollution certificates for commercial vehicles.

The decision was taken in the review meeting of the STA held under the chairmanship of Balbir Singh.

Operators/transporters of commercial vehicles have been advised to complete all formalities of their vehicles. In case of surprise checking, the vehicles which will be found without any of the documents will be impounded, their permit will be cancelled and a heavy fine will be imposed as per the Motor Vehicle Act.
