National Students' Union of India (NSUI) appears to be retaining presidential seat in the Panjab University Campus Student Council (PUCSC) as per the initial leads given by PU officials. The polling for the four members council saw low turnout on Friday morning with officials stating that it could be recorded below sixty percent as compare to sixty seven percent last year.

Initial leads suggested that NSUI is leading by over two hundred votes followed by Student Organisation of India (SOI) and Panjab University Student Union (PUSU) fighting for second slot for the post of president.

Students for Society (SFS) has surprised many in the election which has swept four departments namely; Psychology, department of Indian Theatre, department of Music among others so far.

Officials said for the posts of vice president, secretary and joint secretary, there is no definite trend so far.

Earlier, in morning polling started around 11 am with low turnout but remained peaceful. Counting is underway and final result is expected by 3pm.
