Police have arrested a school teacher and two others, who allegedly abducted two girls from Chandigarh on March 5, and rescued the girls from them in Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand, a top police official said on Monday.
"The teacher, Sunil Kumar, was arrested along with his servant Satish. The two abducted girls have also been rescued from them," Bageshwar's Superintendent of Police, Pushpak Jyoti said over phone.
He said that Satish's wife had also been arrested in this connection from Kafalkhet following a tip off that police got in this connection.
Meanwhile, Chandigarh Police (crime branch) Inspector, Satbir Singh said that a team of the police from Chandigarh had reached the place and would be bringing back the girls to this city.
"We would also be seeking transit remand of the teacher and two of his accomplice," he said.
On Sunday, the teacher's mother, Phoolwati, who lives in Jagadhri in Haryana had said that there were chances of her son being somewhere in Uttarakhand.
The police had questioned Sunil's close friends and traced some of his phone calls before they finally zeroed-in on him.
