Two murders were reported in the district during the last 24 hours. The body of a 28-year-old was found near a railway track, bearing injury marks on the head. The deceased was identified as Munish Kumar, a resident of Shiva Ji Colony here.
Kumar's father Ramesh Kumar said his son had left his house at around 4pm on Sunday. He informed that his son and his friend Golu were found consuming alcohol by Golu's brother Kala, who took them to the police station. He said his son and Golu were later released at night. However, the police did not register a case against Kumar and Golu, he said, adding that the police should conduct a thorough probe in the case. The railway police registered a case against unknown persons.
In another case, a Sadhu was found murdered at Jundla village. SP Abhishek Garg, who examined the crime spot, said they had recovered a blood-stained spade and a bottle of liquor near the body of Sadhu Shama Nath. He added that they were investigating if a property dispute was the reason for the murder.
