Two get life term imprisonment for murder in Rupnagar
A local court on Tuesday has sentenced two youths to life imprisonment for murdering a youth in Rupnagar. It was alleged that one Amandeep Singh alias Kaintha of Rupnagar along with his three accomplices had attacked one Sunny of Nuhon colony near Rupnagar Sadar police station on Nangal road on May 22, 2012 and beat him up.
A local court on Tuesday has sentenced two youths to life imprisonment for murdering a youth in Rupnagar. It was alleged that one Amandeep Singh alias Kaintha of Rupnagar along with his three accomplices had attacked one Sunny of Nuhon colony near Rupnagar Sadar police station on Nangal road on May 22, 2012 and beat him up.
They also caused injury in his left thigh with a sharp edged weapon and Sunny died due to profuse bleeding from the injury.
Police have registered a case under sections 302(murder), 34(common intention) of the Indian Penal Code at Rupnagar police station in this regard.
After the completion of the trial, Rupnagar sessions judge Amarjot Bhatti sentenced accused Amandeep Singh Kaintha and one Jai Singh of Railon Kalan village to life imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each of them.
The court also ordered that in default of payment of fine the accused would have to further undergo imprisonment for six years each.
One of the accused Ankur Kumar was already sentenced to life imprisonment in the case while another accused is still absconding.
