Two held for carrying poppy husk in Sirsa

Haryana police has arrested two persons, including a woman, on charge of carrying poppy husk, near bus stand at Odhan in Sirsa district.

A police department spokesman said on Friday that the accused woman Naseeb Kaur was a resident of Musa in Punjab.

The police seized the poppy husk and registered a case against her under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Odhan police station.

He said that police arrested one Kala Ram of Viruwala Gudha village in Sirsa district and seized 4.8 kg poppy husk from his possession. A case was registered against him also under NDPS Act in Baragudha village.

In another incident, police arrested two people, identified as Ram Swarup and Roshan Lal, indulged in 'satta' at public places in Sirsa district, he added.

Police arrested one Deepak with 84 bottles of country-made liquor from Thehar Mohalla, Sirsa, the spokesman said, adding that police registered a case against him under the Excise Act.
