Two people were arrested for theft, while three bike theft cases were registered from across the tricity on Saturday.
Janardhan Shah, a resident of Phase 2, Ramdarbar, alleged that Avadhoo Yadav of Uttar Pradesh was caught from Phase 1 of the Industrial Area, for stealing two rolls of copper wire on Friday.
In another incident, Sandeep Chanana, a resident of Sector 8, Panchkula, alleged that Raju of UP was caught red-handed stealing brass from Phase 1 of the Industrial Area.
Meanwhile, three bike theft cases were reported from across the tricity. Deepak, a resident of Sector 11, Panchkula, reported that someone had stolen his Activa scooter bearing registration number HR-59B-2013 from the parking of Sector 22-B.
Nandani Sharma, a resident of Pushpak Society, Sector 49, said her Honda Activa scooter (CH-04-6123) was stolen from the parking near a showroom in Madhya Marg, Sector 26. In the third case, a resident of Sector 16, Panchkula, Vivek Shar ma complained that his motorcycle bearing registration number HR-03H-4343 was lifted from Elante Mall, Phase 1 of the Industrial Area.
In a separate incident, Renu Bala of Sector 16-D alleged that someone stole the battery of her Kinetic Honda scooter from the Sai Baba Mandir, Sector 29 . Bhawin Nandwani, a resident of Sector 20-A, alle ged that his mobile phone was stolen from his house on Friday.
The police have re gistered cases of theft under Sections 379 ( punishmnet for theft ) and 380 (theft in dwelling ) of the Indian Penal Code all the incidents.
