Two held on charge of raping minor

Two persons were arrested for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl here on Saturday night.

The accused have been identified as Chander Pal and Lalit Kumar, both residents of a colony in Sector 49. Both the accused are in their early 50's and work as security guards.

According to police, the accused, who was in an inebriated condition, entered into the victim's house around 10.15pm on Saturday when the victim was alone at her house and allegedly raped her.
Both the accused were produced in the court and were sent to judicial custody.

A case under Section 378 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under sections 8, 18 (sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, has been registered at the Sector 34 police station.

In a seperate case, police arrested a Burail resident for allegedly raping a woman, a Sector 49 resident, on the pretext of marriage.

The accused has been identified as Ravi Chauhan. According to police, the accused had an affair with the victim and developed physical relation with her on the pretext of marrying her. Acting on the complaint, police registered a case under sections 378 (rape) and 420 (cheating) of the IPC at the Sector 34 police station.
