Two held with fake Indian currency in Faizabad

Government Railway Police (GRP) has arrested two people and seized from their possession fake Indian currency worth Rs 6.5 lakh at the railway station here last night.


Police sources here on Thursday said both the criminals, natives of Bharatpur in Rajasthan, were caught by the GRP near the booking office at the station. All the currency was in Rs 500 denomination.

The two accused were coming from Malda in West Bengal and were going to Gurgaon in Haryana. They have been identified as Ashafaq and Jacom.

Police had begun interrogating the criminals.
